A widely used measure to protect against damage caused by combustible dust explosions is venting with explosion panels. If a dust explosion cannot be vented into a safe area, flameless venting is paramount. Isolation is essential to protect adjoining system components against the spread of combustible dust explosions. Tanks, silos, equipment are usually connected by pipelines through which, if an explosion occurs, fire and the pressure spread very rapidly. In addition, the intensity of the explosion in connected containers is increased by pressure piling and flame jet ignition. This can be prevented by the REMBE EXKOP isolation system, consisting of a control panel and one or more quench valves. The integrated elastomer seal within the quench valve closes within a few milliseconds. And, the quench valve can be safely put back into operation again at the press of a button. Whether it’s food, pharmaceutical, chemical, wood or metal dust, the EXKOP System keeps dust explosions safely in check.
Operators of industrial facilities who work with combustible Solids need to manage the risks of potential dust explosions. Typically plant components which are at risk are protected by Explosion Vents. These pressure relief devices relieve a certain area before the vessel is damaged by the explosion. As well as the pressure, flames and burnt Dust are also released. There is not always enough space outside to release the explosion. Then we recommend the use of the REMBE TargoVent. The pressure wave and the flame front are targeted in one direction, so that the space in front of the Explosion Vent can be put to better use. In the event that the plant components, which need to be protected are located inside the building, conventional Explosion Vents are no longer enough. To prevent secondary explosions inside the building, we recommend the use of REMBE Q-Boxes. The REMBE Q-Box extracts the energy of the explosion and extinguishes it in Milliseconds. Accurately specified and correctly installed the Q-Boxes absorb both the pressure and the flames and also prevent unnecessary consequential costs, like shut downs or maintenance. This is integrated explosion protection made by REMBE!

On June the 12th 2015 the Delegates of the second Joint US and European DIERS User Group Meeting were invited to visit REMBE in Brilon, Germany. The Practical Day started with a Tour around REMBE`s Production Facilities led by Friedhelm Kesting, Director of Production and Orhan Karagöz, Director of Business Development. REMBE`s Masterpiece is the unique KUB Rupture Disc with incorporated Laser-cut Buckling Elements that allow exact Burst Pressures and maximum Lifetime of the Device. This was demonstrated during Live Tests that were carried out at the REMBE Test Center. The KUB is used in all kinds of Industries, in Gas or Liquid Services and has proven its Performance in Thousands of Applications over the last 25 Years. In addition to these Process-Safetysolutions, REMBE`s Engineers do also invent Solutions to release Pressure resulting from Dust Explosions. If in confined spaces, this pressure has to be vented instantly and safely One measure to vent an Explosion into a safe area is the recently launched Targo-Vent, which is a compact and easy to retrofit explosion blast wave limiter. REMBE® ELEVENT® The ELEVENT® pressure and vacuum relief valve provides optimum protection against overpressure and vacuum for vessels and tanks with low design pressures. It assures a constant and controlled level of pressure in the tank. ELEVENT® not only prevents fugitive emissions of gas, or other pollutants, but also prevents the development of explosive mixtures of substances and eliminates the potential danger of air entering the system. The standard operating ratio is up to 95 % of the minimum response pressure. ELEVENT® is used in the oil and gas industries, food processing, the chemical and pharmaceutical sectors and power plant technology. The optimised ”air cushion“ sealing principle provides a smooth valve stroke and an extremely reliable leak-tight seal. This prevents abrasion and valve chatter. The metal housing is made from deep-drawn stainless steel.
